The star of my September/October flower garden is effortless.  Really.

Celosia Flamingo Purple grows itself,  reseeding year after year from a lucky planting of this super-tough annual way back in the 1990s.

It stands tall (up to 6 feet) without staking.

Doesn’t blow over in storms and hurricanes.

Purple tinted leaves look good with any flowers.

Pink straw blooms hang around for 6-8 weeks.  And you can dry them.

Seeds and plants can be hard to find, unless you know someone who grows Flamingo Purple (like me).  I’m always pulling out extras  in late summer.  If you need a start, let me know.
